Pianist

Lavona thought the picture would be more "realistic" if she was smelling the flowers.

Today we visited with Lavona. She is from southern Arizona. She is the proud mother of four boys and one girl. Her husband has already passed on. While visiting with Lavona she shared some pretty amazing stories. When she was young she picked cotton to earn spending money. She was pretty young, so her older siblings would look out for her. She said that she was paid by the pound and many times she would leave the fields with very raw, scratched up fingers.

She loves to play the organ and piano. When she was still a child she was given the assignment to play church primary songs for the children to sing to. As she continued to grow up she played for the youth and also for the congregation.

Lavona was so appreciative of the beautiful boquet given to her and commented, “My day sure is starting out wonderful!” Thank you for making it possible for us to bring joy to someone's day!

Wildflowers and Roses

Melba is a very special granny, for she is our grandma.  She grew up during the depression and had to wait until eighth grade to get her first pair of new shoes.  She loved the shoes so much that she continued putting cardboard in the soles so they would last.  Grandma loved children and taught elementary school for 34 years.  She also loved cooking chicken and dumplings, going fishing and picking wildflowers.   On January 4th grandpa passed away and she was heartbroken.  They had been married almost 62 years.  When we asked her what kind of flowers she would like, she said, “Oh, I would love wildflowers and pink roses, they are our favorite.”   It was so wonderful to see her smile when she saw the beautiful flowers.   We love you grandma.

Very talented silversmith

Last week we had the opportunity to visit with Reva and deliver her a beautiful flower arrangement. Reva's husband had passed away the Sunday before. They had been married 50 years. Together they have a very large family; more than 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren combined. Reva and her husband were Rock Hounds (they mined and searched for precious stones and gems). Reva was also a very well known silversmith. She showed us some of her jewelry pieces.  They were absolutely stunning.  In the picture she is showing two of her necklaces--the picture does not do them justice. We had such a wonderful time visiting with such a wonderful woman! She was very grateful for some company and loved the flowers. Thank you for helping brighten her day!

Mr. Russell--Air Force Pilot

Happy Veteran's Day! In honor of Veteran's Day we chose a local Veteran to donate a flower arrangement to.
Thanks to your purchases we were able to bring a patriotic bouquet to Russell. Russell fought in the Korean war and served in the Air Force from 1950-1955. He was a pilot and flew bomber jets. His father was ...also a pilot in the armed forces and taught Russell how to fly.
Russell has five daughters who all live out of state. He was so happy to have a visitor and to be given his own flower arrangement. Thank you for making this possible!

Local Mink Farmer

We were so excited to bring another flower arrangement to a local senior citizen.  Leatrice lived most of her life in Lehi, UT.  She has been in the mink farming business for a very long time.  While visiting with her she was very complimentary about the shoes or sweaters others were wearing.  One of Leatrice's favorite activities during the week is when her daughter takes her to get her hair done at the beauty parlor.  When we gave Leatrice the flowers she wanted to know how much she needed to pay for them.  We were so happy to be able to tell her that they were a gift for her. Thank you for making this possible!

Thank you Angel!

Monta was so excited to receive such a beautiful bouquet of flowers. She has not been feeling well lately and commented, “This will definitely make me feel better today!” She has a great love for flowers.
Monta was raised in Springville, UT and her favorite pass time was gardening. Frequently her yard won beautification awards because of her lovely flower beds.
We put the flowers in a vase for her and she said, “Oh these are just gorgeous, Angel! Did you grow these yourself?” I asked her what type of flowers she preferred to plant and she said, “I love all flowers and planted any type I could get my hands on.”
Thank you for making it possible for us to put a sparkle in Granny Monta’s day!

Get Well Soon!!!

Geri is such a kind lady.  She told us all about her life as a waitress and a nurse in Casper, Wyoming.  She really enjoyed working because she was always around people.  She reminded us often of how much she loves people.  But, the best part about Geri, is that she never needed to remind us; we could feel it from the minute we walked in.  And when it was time to leave, we didn't want to go.
Geri, we hope you start feeling well soon!  Thanks for being so kind and friendly!  And thanks above all for your beautiful smile.
Geri smiled today!!!  Please share this with your friends to help us keep bringing smiles to those in need!!!
